We welcome the children to start their morning with us. The children are able to use free play to explore their surroundings for that particular morning.
- Registration
We get used to each others names, count together and sing our welcome songs. We discuss the topic of the morning. The Ready for School group goes to the small hall for their activities.
- Playtime
Here we learn through play about the topic of the day and have opportunity to take part in craft. We also have the chance to explore other activities provided for the morning.
- Tidy up time
The children are accompanied to the toilet and wash their hands ready for refreshments.
- Books
We sit at the tables and look through books, we talk about the weather that day, discuss what day of the week and what month it is.
- 11.00 Refreshments
Drinks and biscuits are served. The children have opportunity to develop their
co-ordination skills by pouring the drinks from small jugs.
- Physical Activities
Weather permitting we play outside with the more physical equipment. If wet we have physical activity in the hall.
- Story time
The children are encouraged to sit and listen to a story giving them an interest in books. Following this is Showing Time. The children can show and tell the rest of the group about the item they have brought in that day.
- Home time
(From time to time we offer optional lunch club sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11.45-12.15 at an extra fee. The children learn to socialize and gain confidence in dealing with their own lunch. After lunch we have an outdoor activity or puzzles and games on the mat, music or pencil control exercises.)
